Sudden Stop of Heavy Rain
This instance occurred in Lahore Sharif at the Dergah of Sayyidi Sultan Ul Awliyaa Shaykh Muhammad Mohsin Munawar Al Yousafi. It was keep on raining for several days and even by looking at the clouds anyone can tell easily there is no chance of rain to stop. The forecast weather report might have also expected further continuous rain too.
Rain carried on and the day of Giyarween Sharif arrived. The preparation of the mass quantity of Langar Shareef for the Giyarween Shareef Mehfil takes place in open air, therefore, a devotee – Abid Noor Mohsini went to Sayyidi Shaykh and mentioned that it is very difficult to make arrangements for the ‘Langar Sharif’ for the Giyarween Shareef in the rain. Sayyidi Shaykh replied that the person who is in charge of preparing the food is fully responsible of it.
However, Sayyidi Shaykh instructed the devotee to bring the Cauldron and the matches. When the matches and Cauldron was brought, as soon as Sayyidi Shaykh Lit the matches to light the Cauldron, all of the sudden rain stopped and sky became clear.
It has happened many times that devotees observed such instance when the stopping or sometimes beginning of rain occurred with the consent of Sayyidi Sultan-Ul Awliaa at many different places.
We have heard the Hadith of Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) from Sayyidi Shaykh that once a Companion entered the Mosque on a Friday through the gate facing the Daril-Qada’ and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) was standing delivering the Khutba (sermon). The Companion in front of Allah’s Beloved (Peace be Upon Him) said, ‘Ya Rasool Allah (Peace be Upon Him), livestock are dying and the roads are cut off; please pray to Allah for rain.’ So Rasool Allah (Peace be Upon Him) raised His Blessed Hands and said, ‘O Allah! Bless us with rain. O Allah! Bless us with rain. O Allah! Bless us with rain! Anas bin Malik (Radi Allah hu Anh) added, “By Allah, there were no clouds in the sky and there was no house or building between us and the mountain of Silas’. Then a big cloud like a shield appeared from behind (i.e. Silas Mountain) and when it came in the middle of the sky, it spread and then rained. By Allah! We could not see the sun for a week”. The next Friday, a companion entered through the same gate and Rasool Allah (Peace be Upon Him) was delivering the Friday Khutba and the companion in front said, ‘ Ya Rasool Allah (Peace be Upon Him)! The livestock are dying and the roads are cut off; please pray to Allah to withhold rain.’ Anas bin Malik (Radi Allah hu Anh) added, “Rasool Allah (Peace be Upon Him) raised His Blessed hands and said, ‘O Allah! Round about us and not on us. O Allah!’ On the plateaus, on the mountains, on the hills, in the valleys and on the places where trees grow”. Anas bin Malik (Radi Allah hu Anh) added, “The rain stopped and we came out, walking in the sun.”
This Hadith verify the beautiful linkage of Rasool Allah (Peace be Upon Him) with Sayyidi Shaykh. The instance also directly reflects the spiritual linkage of Sayyidi Shaykh with the Sultan Ul Awliyaa Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al Jilani (Radi Allah hu Anh). No doubt the Awliyaa Allah are the spiritual generation of Rasool Allah (Peace be Upon Him) from whom the True message of Islam is spreading throughout the world and will keep on spreading until the day of judgement.
